Probably not a submarine key.

this key was found at macqueripe bay chaguaramas Trinidad it is known for landing by Christopher Columbus and in world war two a submarine base please help us identify this key

its is 7 1/2 inch

large keys like that are usually associated with iron lock entry gates.likely pre WWI.my best guess..download.webp

you dont want to get it appraised...the cost of that may be more than the value of the key.simply look on the ebay type sites and see what similar items have SOLD for.I hate to tell ya...dont quit your day job...they fairly common.

could be for several uses --a jailors key --or large iron gate key -- the fancy tip looks to be to make it pick proof lock wise --so it could be a trunk key for "valuible items" early 1800 to late 1700 is my guess on age.

thank you guys for all the information it is very interesting here in Trinidad at a place called forth gorge there is a chest that they claim have never been opened i will go see if the key fits lol am on the hunt hope to find more interesting stuff
