I have been buying boxes of jewelry on a popular online auction site, trying to get some gold and silver, but I found this clock also, so I bid on it and got it for $16. What I didn't realize at the time is that someone set the points in what I assume is epoxy, on particle board. They aren't coming off any time soon, although a soak in acetone would get them loose I think. They all seem to be of Great Basin area points, but the serrated point in the center right is different from the others. The frame is 12 x 15 inches. Any idea on types and possible value? Thanks in advance for any information/advice.

I am not very well versed in a Great Basin types but I do have some very similar to those. I think I recognize some of the types too. Elko, Humbolt, Rose Spring, Desert Side Notch, Desert Sierra, etc. Some of them look good too and a great deal at $16.

Some nice ones in there , especially the middle white bifurcated point that’s a killer point.

I gotta say I have never seen a basin point like the serrated piece. It looks like a Pinto- Humboldt hybrid with odd serrations. Some of the others look off in the notching as well. Can't tell all from pics.JMHO

My archaeologist brother just said that one is probably a reworked Humboldt. Sorry for the bad quality pictures.

They look like modern points to me done by a rookie flint knapper.

Judging relics is tough, and even tougher with a flash and through glass, but when I zoom on the pictures in the impression I get is a mix of old points, maybe some rechips, and probably some modern stuff that isn't particularly well made. (Not made to fool, just made to be made.) But for $16 it wouldn't take but one of them to be authentic to be in the green.

Check an see if they were stuck on with a hot glue gun. A small lighter will remove the glue.

Even modern points of that size would be worth a couple bucks a piece. I think you did alright with the purchase.
