Hello all. I'm new here and I've been trying to find someone who could help me identify this really cool rock/fossil my daughter found on Brigantine Beach in NJ. It's extremely light, and has so many mesh like layers. If you enlarge the pictures, especially the 2nd one, you can see tiny holes all over. There are some hollow areas between the folds where shells habe become stuck. It is as large as my hand. Whatever it is, it is a sorce of pride for my 5 year old who found it. She has been asking for quite awhile what it might be and I'm hoping someone might be able to help.

I'm no expert but it looks like a coprolite to me. Fossilized poop. Gary
