please help indian artifact

Really jealous of my 8 yr old son and niece who found this in a small stream that snakes around the back yard. The pictures dont show the details very well but this rock is roughly 2in thick,2in wide and about 5in long. The inside edges have a real pretty red and black striped color and looks like it was used for grinding but I need an experts opinion. All information would be useful and appreciated. Thank you

If you do an internet search of the terms "artifact paint stone" you should find some interesting info to look at
 

Al425, thanks for posting this but I am sorry to inform you that your piece is a natural formation and a very common creek find. It is formed by millions of years of erosion and not by the hand of man.
