Interesting! I don't recognize it, but the style is 1st half 19th century.

Not American military.

the mark is under the handle not sure what it is but you can see it in the third picture, also has some mrkings going down the sword

Obviously a saber of sorts. But it looks fairly thin and too flimsy for use in battle. I would guess it was some kind of sword for a military dress uniform? But as I said, I am just guessing. Monty

It's a nice early 19th c shape, but what throws me is the Art Deco pommel, and the lack of marks. Also the decoration on the spine looks like poorly done acid etching... leading me to suspect it is a older wall hanger. :icon_scratch:

Is the wire on the handle just copper, or was it plated once upon a time?
