Please help me identify this unbranded brass cannon barrel

Hello all! I recently found this at my local thrift store. It appears to be a brass cannon barrel. It’s ten inches long and weighs 1 lb 6.1 oz. The diameter of the bore hole is half an inch. The trunnion is in the shape of whale’s tail. It also has pitting, and patina throughout, as well as two holes in the bore part of it. Any information on it would be much appreciated!
