please help with another flat button

i found this on the bottom of a drained lake today. does anyone know how old it is or any info.
i did noticed theres a triangle on it.
please help

That "triangle" may be the letter A in a backmark— either the name of the manufacturer, or possibly some word such STANDARD or PLATED. Either way, it looks as if it's a one-piece, plain-faced button, which likely had a gilt finish when new. In most cases those date from the first half of the 1800's; however, the fat shank on the back is often seen on buttons of French manufacture, some of which date a bit later. If you can manage to make out any lettering on the back, that would help us ID and date it more accurately.

Dang you got a nice camera Whitesid. Flat buttons are hard to date without a backmark, and even some with a backmark can be hard to date. A one piece like that is usually early to mid 1800's.
