Please help with covil war ID

I'm still at this site and supposedly there was a union stockade close by, not sure exactly where though! However I pulled this out of the ground!! There was lead in the same hole so I'm wondering if it an old ingot or something to melt lead down to make bullets! It's very heavy the lighter is for sizing!! Any info would be greatly appreciated!!!!
