100_5762.webp100_5763.webpHi,
I found this buckle earlier in a pasture field that im almost sure was ploughed once or twice,(because i found a 1600s coin only about 4'' deep, and a victorian coin slightly deeper).
Anyway, could this be a medeival buckle,as it sure looks like one! It was found approx 6'' down with the Garret Euroace.
Please identify this for me,it would be greatly appreciated :)

Half of a spectacle buckle, these were used for hundreds of years but its circa 1500-1600

Bronze is a copper alloy. Nice Stater in your Avarter, would like to know a bit more about that, did you find it.

This is how many Celtic gold Staters are found, by accident, if you try & target, good luck. They are a lucky mistake.:icon_thumright:

just finished off that field,no gold staters, dont think there would be many in ireland. I know a celtic fort down the road from that field though, and have permission from the landowner, will try that some day soon :)
