Thank you for your input...and sorry that you feel we are trying to use this site as a prank....so untrue...we are just 3 guys from a small town that thought we really had found a treasure and we got so excited...obviously we have no knowledge in this area but have not given up yet....we still have the urns and would like to get a value on those and sell them.
OnTarget, As you can see from my numbers, I've been around TNet for more than a few weeks, and I feel comfortable speaking for our group on skepticism. There have been some occasions where new members have posted 'too good to be true' items to see if we would bite. Personally, when I see hoof prints I think of horses, not zebras. It's a possibility your stones have been subject to a coating like lead.
In no way I am saying you and your friends have done this, but for us to help you, we need sharp, clean photos and as much information about location without disclosing your claim area.
With all the technology available today, it is possible to post clear, sharp photos. I would suggest you take one of the rocks that shows the best
metal area on it, and take several photos of it in various lighting situations, ie. with and without flash using the Macro setting. Items show best on medium blue and green solid backgrounds. I would also suggest you take one of the 'coin' items and do the same. Be sure to put a readable ruler in the photo for size.
In the photo, draw an arrow to show what portion is STONE and what portion is METAL. Do any attract a magnet? Can the metal area be scratched with a finger nail, with a metal nail or knife? How much does one stone weight? Are they heavy or light? Post the answers to these questions as well as any other pertinent information.
Since you are new to the forum it is understandable that you're not familiar with the rules or how the 'What Is It' forum operates. For us to help you, we need for you to help us. We look forward to seeing a new set of detailed photos highlighting ONE or TWO of the best found items.
