Okay, okay, I was going to take a nap but I'll head to the beach and post some photos this evening...

Rain here but I did get out the last few days and scored a few treasures, see if I can find them.. LOL

Stay warm up there and Keep the Faith!

Only tent stakes and trash today.

Here I am watching it rain day after day in soggy western Oregon (10 inches since December 1, and several feet of snow in our mountains) and dreaming of detecting on warm beaches. The post count seems to have gone down a bit here lately and it is interfering with my vicarious life!

Buy some gore-tex raingear and get out there.

Couple of pennies today on Riviera Beach. All new sand and restrictions. I have noticed myself that the post seem to have gone down a bit.

Okay, here ya go... hit the Venice beach for a couple of hours today. (southwest Fl)

I was running tests on my CTX and managed to find some pretty standard garbage... but, as I was out in the 83 degree weather, and you were stuck in the snow- my day was probably a lot better.

I had a good time playing with the machine and spent some time in the sun- as per your request.

Thanks GIB. That's pretty neat how you can track yourself and your targets.
Casper, I was wondering why you have been so quiet!

Well, you forced me to go out in the drizzle today. One beach that I had not been to in 3 years - small private - was like the rest for 45 minutes - NOT A SIGNAL, lots of sand here on the Cape. I went shallow on the way out and my FIRST signal was a 14K band. Still heading out my second was an old twisted silver. Well...had to keep it up for a total of 2 hours...3 sinkers later, I left to rinse off in a fresh water pond I have never detected before. Nothing out to waist deep, then I started getting hits...about $1.00 in coins and one BIG silver ring on the way out. I would guess someone had a land detector and did not get the box wet. Glad I went deep and did not stay at home. Thanks for the push...by the way it broke the 3 month dry spell. AND there is still 13 days left in this year!

Love the GPS tracks...very interesting how one detects an area.

Winter stinks Bill - I'm done for the year here in the frozen tundra known as Minnesota............:sad11:

RingFinder: Permafrost would certainly be a deterrent. Here, it is a question of mud.

Temp in Venice CHANGED today..... what 45 in the AM? Water was just unhuntable with the wind swell. Not been the best area for water hunting with renurshment and all that sand in the water now. Looks like the East side of the island is about the only place producing much.

Are your map plots provided from your CTX? I didn't know it would do that. Nice photos!

Yes, the CTX has a mapping feature where you can also mark Find Points. You bring it up on Google Earth through the XChange2 software.

Glad some of you FL hunters are finding stuff.. I haven't found anything since it cooled down. Did a 3hr hunt yesterday at Saint Pete Beach, and found a total of 36 cents and a pair of nail clippers. I ran into 2 other detectorists on a 6hr hunt. One had less clad than me, and the other sightly more. No rings. Another girl was waaay up in the dry sand looking for clad so I didn't chat with her since I was in the water.

I'm going to try a few spots today which I think are rarely hunted. Not expecting much... every time I think that I run into two or three people with detectors haha.

I'll try to bring my go pro today so I can entertain the snowed in folks :(

Beach? I'm stuck in Indiana and there's not even any corn left in the fields to look at! :laughing7:

Well after 4 hours of hunting my treasure is 75 cents and a pouch crammed with garbage.
