Looks more like mica to me. Break off a piece and then try to crush it with the point of a knife. If it breaks up, not gold. If it flattens out, might be gold.

what if you just hit it with a hammer and leaves a dimple ? if it cracks or bounces off its some kind of stone. let me know if it helps.

Thanks for replying it's so dense and hard it's almost so hard to get off also its weight is almost double wat anormal rock should be does mica carry weight like that jw

Like they said. Chip off a small piece. Smash it with a hammer. Mica will shatter. Gold will flatten.

Hoping I know someone rich.:laughing7: Welcome to the forum.

I sure hope it Gold! :dontknow:

I'm no expert, and the pictures are tough to tell, but it kinda looks like petrified wood to me.

It looks like a huge slab of quartz and mica schist to me. The gold coming from the schist. You know what they say, schist happens. The creek near me has gold colored schist in it and real gold! The schist tends to float out quickly.

Thanks everyone I appreciate ur help

oh the suspense is killing me ? i cant take it anymore ? whats the verdict ? what is it ?

Holy shist that would be alot o gold if it is a potta gold

Send me a chunk I will determine its gold content for you...
