I went to an old park late this afternoon to try my luck. This park had been hit pretty good over the years but I wanted to get away from the trashy city curb strips. I haven't had this Explorer II very long so I'm still in the learning process. I hunted about 90 minutes with no luck then got a solid 7-25 signal under some old trees. I figured it was a copper Lincoln but boy was I thrilled when these 6 coins came out of the hole! My TRX pointer proved very valuable as I kept locating these one at a time as I removed more dirt. In fact, I covered the hole after finding the first wheat but opened it back up after running the coil over it again and continuing to get a strong signal. The 5 wheats are dated '35 D, '39, '39, '41 D and an earlier one that is hard to make out but looks like 19 teens..maybe '10 or '12. The Merc is '41. These were among roots about 5 1/2" down. The green corrosion on the pennies looks to have been caused by contact with the dime.

Welcome to the party! Coins spills are a blast. Especially when they're wheats with a silver thrown in for good measure. That Minelab Explorer II you're swinging is one heck of a machine. It does have a learning curve but, once mastered it will recover great and deep old coins. It does especially like silver too. Keep after it mate.:headbang:
