Shame it broke... it looks like a later stage preform to me... It looks like it broke in a weak spot in the material during thinning.. That probably was not seen when the piece was started
 

Drew, I can't really get a handle on this one from just the pictures. It does look like a small Blade or Preform at some angles, but the angle from the top looks like it had a base at one time that has broken off so that makes it difficult to ID.

yep, the photo from the basal end seems to show a darker material at the break, possibly indicating it was a relatively modern break.
 

Probably Adena Blade, and a preform, it looks like they go to the bottom which was a little too Quartzy and probably discarded it, lots of good material in that region and we find em like that fairly often
