Found these today while walking one of my places. Nice little head. Was wondering if this ring might be artifact. Feels like could be mussel shell. Any help would really be appreciated.Thank you for your time. God bless. 15011218066041276265990.webp

Welcome to the forum. It is so hard to tell from a picture sometimes. I doubt the circle is anything. Bottom right looks like pottery but again hard to tell. Where there is worked flint or chert their is usually enough to determine if it is ancient. You are in a state loaded with artifacts.

Thanks for commenting. I didn't know for sure. I found the pottery shard bout three ft. from the point. Have found small shards with some painted lines on them in the same location but nothing bigger than two quarters. The area was tree planted with dozers couple of years ago. Hard to find stuff not broken. Thanks again. God bless.

Is there a lot of ranching in that area. The cows are known for breaking pottery sherds to bits, over time, just by walking over them.

You definitely have some Indian artifacts there. Can you tell what the round thing is made out of? Stone? Metal? Shell? Bone? Anything like that? The round thing looks like it has some man made cut marks in it.

They did some wildland tree planting with bulldozers a few years ago. It really tore up the land. Find a few intact points. But most broken. Same with pottery. Mostly small shards the size of two quarters. The ring object feels like Stine it possibly mussel shell. Found bout three hundred yards up hill from river. Water level was lot higher in mid 1800s around here.

Nice finds. The natives here in Arizona made jewelry and stuff like that out of shell, including finger rings. Yours could be something like that, but it would be difficult to tell without looking closer. The Natives also liked to build their homes on highpoints, such as hills, overlooking water sources. Keep hunting there, for sure.

And if you can, show us a photo of your other points youve found there. Im sure Im not the only one here on T-net who would like to get a look at them.

Nice finds! You're lucky to have that right in your own back yard!

I have been really blessed to find these things. Especially in my own backyard. Thanks again for all the wonderful comments. Here's a pic from front of my property on the bayou. God bless.IMG_20170727_181252856.webp

I sure dont miss them here in GA. No cottonmouths here either the water temp runs to cold for the 2 types of critters and Im glad. We do have rattlers and copperheads but I havent seen many of them either. Plenty of flies all types that bite even the house flies bite here. I wouldnt go swinging on that rope thats for sure.
