Possible Bone Button?

Hello TreasureNetters!

I know this isn't anything special, but I'm new to detecting/treasure hunting, so it's cool to me. I was at a late 1800's early 1900's small house site and found this button, that I think may be made of bone. I have 3 questions.

1. Is it bone?
2. What time period is it from
3. What kind of garment would it go off of.

For sure a bone button. How long had buttons been made of bone and or clam shells? That I'd need to see if I could find that out. My "guess" it's 122 years old? give or take 50 years. That should cover it. Could be a button used from shoes to a shirt collar? I do think it's special, heck those guys on the diggers show would be saying this could have been a button on Abrahams Lincolns favorite shirt. That's one way to see it.

Bone underwear button. Guessing you found this at what was the laundry site of the small house. If so, you likely will find small china, (pressed clay), buttons too. They were the shirt buttons of the day, before plastics.
