1. The color looked right
2. The weight felt right (about 15g)
3. No wear showing thru even though worn
4. Clearly handmade with wrought marks
5. Stamped PD but no gold marks
6. Wish me luck!

I was hoping for you. Makes since though since it was marked so deeply with initials that the gold hallmark would have been clear also.

Well I did find a fairly heavy unmarked Post Mod. looking gold ring once. It looked like somebody made a wax copy and plaster of paris mold and melt some random gold scrap to make it. The color of the gold was very pale. I scrapped it when gold was up and it would test the guy said as if it was over 10K and under 14k. He paid as if it was all 10K as it was deemed unpredictable scrap. It was sawed in two with his jeweler saw also before he gave me the money. It was 8 plus grams. I found it in a small town church run thrift shop for cheap. The tip to me was how heavy it felt in the center of my right palm and the lustrous hue of the surface in the sunlight. My hunch about it was spot on.
