Possible Civil War era coin

Found on our property that has a rich in the following; Native American, Revolutionary/Civil War, WW1 artillery range, and moonshiners. Coin sized heavy like lead. Any ideas?

It doesn't look like a coin. Seems to be iron, and with the word "YARD" or "WARD" on it.

If smooth on the reverse, even more reason to believe it is not a coin.

Does seem like it but I think letters would have to be reversed on a seal.

That is my guess if it is lead (at least, non-magnetic for a start).

It would be helpful if people put a small object such as a quarter next to finds they want help ID'ing.
