Found 2 items that I think may be colonial period. First is a musket ball? Measures .75 inches on micrometer but appears to be very slightly lop-sided. Second is the tiniest tomback(?) button I have ever found. Took me forever to locate it in the fading light. It rang up like a coin on the IMG_0117.webpIMG_0116.webpNox800. That machine doesn't miss anything. Also had more than my share of can slaw. I can't seem to pass those signals up, even when the machine tells me to skip them. Got an iron buckle, a small iron ring and some typical iron farm junk.

Yes they could both be considered colonial although I prefer the term "18th Century". Looks like a brass (not tombac) cufflink and a Brown Bess musketball.

Agreed, late 18th c copper-alloy cuff-link button.

Nice finds gitta love those old sites

Nice finds! :icon_thumleft: Small buttons are really cool.

Nice finds. Congrats

A tombac button will ring up very low. Even the largest of tombac buttons will usually ring up in the pull tab range

Thanks, all. I thought the musketball might be Brown Bess era. I cannot imagine the sound of a few dozen of those whizzing through the air near your head.
