Hi all, did a bit of detecting today and found what I think is a military dress bckle from the civil war....not sure tho, it has the little indention where the metal clip would rest if a belt went through it.....also, I found a 1981 english penny....very odd to find that here in NC , also the door handle of an old car, a brass gear of some sort, what looks like an old ice scraper but it's made of iron what looks like an old brass keyhole cover...several pennies, a few dimes and a few quarters...this site is on confederate breastworks next to a creek that is a park now...I only got to detect a small bit of it and will hit it again

Hey there, Nice finds. I think that the "buckle" is really a sprocket from an old egg beater. IMHO
