Possible horse tack item

Hello all - found this along what I think is an old wagon trail along cow pasture. The loop looks worn on the left side as pictured. Rang up like something nice but ended up being the find of the day.

Sorta, but it's too small and made from brass.

Yeah after looking into it further you are absolutely correct Mud Hut. It's a gag swivel on horse tack.
