Possible Rev. War Button.. Help.....

Hey guys
I found this button over the summer. I believe its pewter . Its one piece and the size of a nickel. It shows a sun with rays coming out the side. Someone in my club told me he believed it was a REv. war button but could not place it. There is a backmark however it is obliterated. I can make out individual letters but nothing together. One looks like NO___ maybe F or T. The bottom may be P or R _ _ _ then W or M. I found the button in the front yard of an important Rev war soldier, so t ould make sense. ANy info at all would be great.

Think you have yourself a nice early civilian button. Possibly Rev War era, but not really a "Rev War button".
