Post-Civil War Navy Button with letters on top

Hello everyone! I bought a batch of post-civil war buttons and there is a Navy button I am unable to recognize. It is an anchor with the letters A.S.S.? written on it (I can't make out the last letter). Backing is W.A. Raymold N.Y. Anyone know what the letters stand for? Thanks!

The 'W' may stand for Whitlock, as there was a Raymold & Whitlock N.Y. . The best I can come up with due to lack of time right now is that A.S.S.CO. would stand for Ames Swords & Scabbards [ please don't hold me to this] I will research more if you don't get a positive id, when I have more time----tom

The "A.S.S.?" is on the front of the button, not the back. The camera on my phone wouldn't let me get any closer without being blurry. I am not too concerned with the make, more what kind of Navy button this is. Thank you for your help!
