Potentiometers

what r they and what do they do, and most of all do i have them in my minelab quattro? i think i might need 2 get this thing retuned, but b4 i do that id like 2 know what the symptoms of a "bad pot" are b4 i send it off 2 spend money. thanx much

You can spray contact cleaner inside the potentiometer to clean it,but you would have to open up your detector.Not sure of type of problem you are having
