Re: Potter's Treasure books versus Horner

I have a POTTER book --mel ,marx and other top notch folks all swore by potters in the old days --its a solid good book even today its useful still --- mines the revised or "updated" edition --it has all the original stuff plus a bit more that the older first editon did ---I use it often. two other great florida only shipwreck books are --SHIPWRECKS OF FLORIDA by SINGER and SHIPWRECKS IN FLORIDA by MARX--both which are great --these three books together make a great starter set for basic research for florida area wrecks. and the set can be put together for not too much money-- Ivan

Re: Potter's Treasure books versus Horner

Thanks, Ivan. I like Potter, too. I was hoping for info on Horner, though.

Re: Potter's Treasure books versus Horner

have you checked out the other two books I talk about?

Darren:
Dave Horner, Lou Ullian, Rob McClung and others and I were partners in the discovery and salvage of the "Capitana" (1654) off my boat, the R/V Explorer, ten years ago in Ecuador. Dave wrote about our exploits in his book "Shipwrecks" and accurately gave credit of the discover to McClung. I found no exaggerations in his book regarding the Capitana.

Thanks, Don. Glad to hear it. Is he still around today?

Ivan, I'm not looking for Florida info for this project, but I'm sure those books would be great for our Conquistador projects. Thanks.

Seahunter and myself where at Dave's home a few months ago. He is still very active in treasure hunting.

Scotty, do you know if he's gone back to Maryland or is he still in Fla? I'll be down in a few weeks and would love to meet him. Do you have any contact info you could email me? Thanks so much!

Re: Potter's Treasure books versus Horner

I heard that Dave Horner had a lease on the Cay Sal Bank. Does anybody know what he was looking for?
