Thanks Quindy! I should have been a bit more specific. I was wondering if the pattern on the shard would provide any evidence as to age, etc. I've yet to be out diggin' this year. The flu, bronchitis, and frozen ground has kept me indoors! Hope all is well with you and yours.
 

My hunch is mid to late 1800s, just based on what we find at our sites down here.
