Nice find though.
Definitely looks Indian to me. My daughter agrees!DemonCatSpaceStar said:1/4/09 I rescued this from the edge of falling off a sand bar into the water! I'm not sure if it is Native American or early settlers but it's cool! Any Thoughts would be helpful. Thanks.
Sometimes it has to do with the firing of the pottery. I've seen some with a black slip on it before, and sometimes its from having been used to cook with.SouthernGirl said:Do you guy ever find pieces of pottery that is real black? I found a piece of something and it is real light and black.![]()
I used to think that, but its a type of Caddoan pottery called "Killough Pinched". It occurrs throughout the Caddoan area of Eastern Texas it seems.chong2 said:hey Jonnyreb, do u think your piece is from moulding by a basket? i cant really tell from your pic
