Thought I would mix it up a little today and show how much junk you need to dig to get good stuff. I think sometimes I dig 3 lbs of junk to get 1/8 lb of good stuff. We see some awesome finds on this forum but rarely see the junk. Junk is a reality of this hobby and, don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. Every hole to me is like a lotto ticket, you never know what you'll get. Today I hunted a Union camp that I have been to many times. The relics on this site are getting scarese so we discriminant very little and dig a lot. The site still produces bullets and I will take them all day long. I love the pretty music they make on my ATPro. It is the one signal that I can almost always guess what it is. I have a small pouch for good stuff and a five gal bucket for junk. Although my good/junk ratio changes constantly, I've never needed the bucket for good stuff. Hope everyone had a great weekend, I did. Thanks for looking.

Congratulations on the bullet and round ball recoveries. You are right about the amount of junk we retrieve for every good item, as relic hunters that is to be expected!

A lot of people in my area do not dig mid-tones, they say "All I do is dig junk". I wish to thank them for leaving all of the nickels, Gold and Platinum for me to recover; its been a very productive year!

I hear ya, a lot of the deep buttons I have dug give real iffy signals. If you are relic hunting you need to dig every consistent signal. I trust my shovel way more than my vdi. Lol
