Went to poor farm only to find another detectorist in my spot oh well free country talked awhile with him and watched him dig this awesome indian in the same area ive searched before goes to show a site is never hunted out im so jealous and a bit mad at myself for missing this coin the guide list it at 9 million minted and at extra fine as it grades worth 185.00 and all i found was a beat up 1880 indian

You can't keep a sweet hunting spot like that to yourself for very long. Company was bound to show up sooner or later.

Nice looking IH. I hunted a "poor" farm many years ago. The amount of coins found there seemed to contradict the term "poor" :wink:

yup the coins keep coming he also said he found a 1920 standing liberty and a 1920 something mercury on another visit

Deerhunter24 The county poor farm is where poor people could stay and they had to work the farm. They were around in the 1800's to the early 1900's. In the county that I live in we have a poor farm cemetery. If you look in a 1903 county plat book you will probally find one.
