All Treasure Hunting
One of our local farmers has just filled in a 5ft deep electrical power line trench across his oilseed rape field. Its a low priority field normally but its only 1 mile from a Roman Town & is next to other fields that produce quite well.
It was however the perfect opportunity this time of year to get a few digs, Dads second was part of a Lead Ampulla!
The runs were taking 1 hour before the turn around! - The longest we have done before.
After 3.5 hours we had:

Lead Cloth Seal
Medieval Leather Mount
Squashed Lead 17th C Powder Flask Lid
Jetton
2 Lead Tokens
4 Scrappies
& my best Roman Silver this year - Hadrian, AD133, Denarius!:headbang:

That makes up for a slow few hunts we had recently.:icon_thumright:

Hot damn that's a nice coin! How does that ring up on the detector compared to a modern (1900s) silver coin of a similar size?

Probably much the same. It sounded much like a large copper coin or button, but sweeter. Numbers in the 80s-90s.
