Here's a Railroad baggage tag I dug in west central Mississippi. It has MEMPHIS with the number 1919 underneath and NASHVILLE at the bottom of the tag. The company name of Taulmann & Co., New York is also stamped across the top of the tag. I understand Taulmann & Co. were making tags circa. 1857-1858. Does this tag indicate that the departure site was Memphia and the destination was Nashville? Because there was no Memphis to Nashville railroad during this time period. Any thoughts out there?
