Pre WWII japanese sen coin!

My mother have me a bowl of change from her purse for me to look through. While looking through it, I found this.

This is a japanese coin. My dad speaks japanese so he told me that its an oldie.

After researching, I discovered it to be a 1938 sen. Thats pre WWII!
