prepping for the 4th

We're trying to beat the clock and install a regulation horseshoe pit and install a 25ft flagpole. These are pics of the work in progress. My grandson is priming one of the backstops and included a pic of the hole for the flagpole. Want to raise the flag on the 4th.

A friend is balancing a beer can on one of the stakes here. The flagpole we hope to have installed in time is lying on the ground behind my son.

More prep pics and a ice cream churning pic from the barbeque

The first pic is what we called "Barbeque Central". I won't even start trying to name all of the foods but included were wild boar roast, racks of ribs, brats, etc. , etc. , etc.
In the other oic the kids are writing their names in the wet concrete while my son writes 4/7/2009 on the flagpole base for the big bash the next day.
We pulled off the flag raising but I didn't get good pics. My son's girlfriend did though so I'll try and post some of those tomorrow. I'll post one I took after it was up.
