I know I could just go and buy one, but I like trying to come up with something on my own. Plus I don't have the money to spend. Only part missing is the pistol grip. The cuff part I cut out from a old computer case. I'm going to buy a set of mountain bike bar ends to get that part done unless I can come up with something else. The armrest cover I made from part of a accessory bag that goes in a laptop bag of which I have three of. I can sacfrifice one. There's 1/4" foam inside the cover where my arm goes. Came out better than expected. Nice project for a rainy day. Feels real good on the arm. Easily adjustable for whatever I'm wearing summer or winter.

Re: Progress so far of my attempt of a straight shaft setup for my Musketeer

I bought these for $9.70 total. Should make a nice handle. I have a black foam grip to go over it.

Re: Progress so far of my straight shaft setup for my Musketeer (Handgrip added)

I got my bar ends today in the mail. Had a foam handgrip salvaged from something else that works perfectly. I cannot believe how good this feels to swing. What a difference.
So much more control with ease of operation. Now I'm going to hunt down a mount clip kit to rear mount. I don't want to take it off the other S curve shaft it's currently on. Still need to find a lenth of pole the right size inner and outer diameter. Really enjoying this project.

Nice report great photo's.

More progress on my project today.

Made it longer to have a bigger sweep. The lower shaft is from a bounty hunter tracker 2-D someone gave me a few years ago I no longer have so why not? It need to get a TS1000 coil to cover more ground. Total spent so far is $12.33. Everything else I had laying around. Hip mount ready for the beach or fields. Swings nice. I may sand it and paint it black.

Good job. The Musky is a good choice to breathe some new life into. Glad it will live to detect another day.

Another arm cuff and cover to try out.

I found the first arm cuff would slip a bit. Until I fix that I put this one together with various types of velcro I had. It works and it's comfortable. This frozen ground stuff is killing me.... I'm stir crazy.
