I see you saved the best for last. Now get a 5 gal bucket and soak them in some tide over night then use a tooth brush on them so they shine up some. Looks like you did have a good weekend. rock

Thanks man!! Best is always last. Even it's got a clip out of it.

Busy Guy this weekend I see. Good for you! Nice finds. ...... Rock... You don't really soak your stuff in laundry detergent do you?

Why? You dont clean yours?

Thanks Gator. Tired as can be. I'm scared of tide as well Rock. I take your word for it, but it sounds kind of strong and wouldn't it mess the patina up?? I just give them the old splash-a-roo. I'll probably forget I found them by next weekend.

Fresh water and a soft toothbrush is all that is needed. If that doesn't take it off it was supposed to stay.you should never put chemicals on an artifact. In some cases its needed to stabilize bone or wood but even that is only when absolutely needed to seal and keep from crumbling.

Not if they were in red clay for 6k yrs. That might work for yours but not mine. Some are just nice the way they come but most are not. Of course you would mix it with water very little tide. I do use Dawn and a tooth brush first and if that doesnt work then tide.

@ NC on your 3rd pic there is a red looking stone looks like flint. Can we see a close up of that one? That looks special.

That is probably it. A lot smaller that I thought.

Yeah, nothing to write home over. That is it up front on the 3rd pic.

Correct on the front. Still anything worked is cool to me. You have to remember the Scraper was the most important tool they had. It took care of so many things when it came to processing their food items. And I would think they used them as knifes also.
