There is really nothing you can do about people getting what is public information.

Anything that is public - everything except your credit report - can be gotten. And, it doesn't take very long, and you don't need to "know" somebody. Just a computer.

Every traffic violation, bankruptcies, court cases, census, jobs, relatives, ever been in the newspaper because you got married, divorced, had a baby, your kid graduated, you were involved in an accident - anything.

By the way, there is another public site, which I will not name, that has all that sort of info, without paying for a complete profile. The armed services and some others use it all the time for a "surface background check".

Plus, there are many, like this one, Intellius is another one that's well known, that you can pay for and get all the info you want.
