Dmn right it does.. It keeps the balance in this country.. If for one do not want to have a president like Obama that I can't protect my self from.. This manis a danger to this great country and in my opinion just wants more power and feels he will gain it with the disarming of American citizens.. Well guess what in Pa. alone the first day of deer season we have a times a million hunters in the woods with firearms and trust me they know how to use them.. Believe it or not they don't hurt each other.. You hear that Obama one million gun owners in the woods and they don't go around shooting people put that on the news you jackass.. I only pray that other states hold the 2nd amendment as close to their hearts as we do in Pa. Don't want to live in a country where I have no way of protecting myself.. I sure as hell don't want Obama in charge of protecting my home, family and friends.. This is one of our few footholds that keep our govenment in check.. We need to protect it at all costs.. God bless the 2nd amendment....

The permit is the cheap part,200 dollars,the permits arent almost impossible to get,just a very thorough back ground check.The expensive part is the full auto weapon,15,000 plus depending on what you want to buy.
It is constitutional. "The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed" It has been ruled on many times by supreme court judges, below are just 2 recent rulings, I can get more going back father.
Supreme court ruled in 2008 that 2nd amendment protects an individual right to possess and carry firearms.

I'm not talking about gun ownership being constitutional. I'm talking about the misguided claim being made that there is a "constitutional right for citizens to bear arms against their own country if they feel that country is not upholding the constitution". It's just an uneducated foolish statement with absolutely no basis in constitutional writing. And justified by taking a few small comments completely out of context - that's all.
Stockpicker, I am sorry, but for me and millions upon millions of others our forefathers left more than enough writtings to explain why they put the 2nd amendment in our Bill of Rights and a large part of it was to defend ourselves from a government of tyranny....... The dates of their writtings tell what was in their minds and intentions at the time it was being written up and ratified, if you can't see that it is a personal issue it isn't because it isn't there....
Constitution went in to effect on March 4, 1789 and the bill of Rights was raitified in 1791...

Stockpicker, Just what would you suggest as a alternative? fight the govt. in courts THEY control? Protest? Well, I will tell you govt. always get the ruling they want and the leaders don't really care if everyone protests as they will still do what they want. Federal govt. is even tyrannical towards states like Arizona for instance.
