No they are not proofs. Proofs will have the S mint mark.

Plus the proofs you definitely want to keep are the 1992 and forward that are silver. There are two different sets of proofs from 1992 and forward (clad and silver).

Thank you for the clarification. I was a bit confused from this section:

Cool, I want to correct your update. The 2000 and 2001 hallves were issued for circulation. Its the 2002 and later that weren't. They are still out there though since the dealers that bought the P & D rolls and searched for MS and then put their rejects into circulation. I find one every box or so.

Again thanks for the help.

Well, the 2002 and later were not released to general circulation, and were minted for collector sets/rolls, but they still are (approximately) circulation quality strikes. Those are known as NIFC (not intended for circulation). Proofs are much different and should stick out like a sore thumb. They have completely mirror-finish fields with frosted relief.

are all proof coins S ? I thought just the silver proofs were S , but don't other mints make proofs as well at least until the NIFC period?

Currently I think all proofs of regular coinage are S. There were proofs at other mints some decades ago. Bullion coins and their proofs have W for West Point.

Proofs were struck at the San Fransisco mint starting in 1968. Before that, they were struck at the Philadelphia mint. Proof sets were first issued in 1936.
Some of the commemoritives may have been struck at other mints, i'm not sure about that.

"s" mintmarks are proofs, in order to get one, someone had to cash in a proof set by cracking the coins out- they are very hard to come by.

Your coins are not proofs, but I would keep the 2002 and toss back the 2005 because it isn't shiny but it is dull.
