I found and replied to an older post from 2012 that addressed this issue...
It is a peeve of mine over the years...
In my early years I could never figure out why the sens knob numbers on detectors go way higher than could ever be set without probs...
So...
After tearing apart many a coil and fooling around with wirings over the years...
I came to a great realization...
Coil wire is the "enemy" of sensitivity.
Below is a diagram showing IMO typical coil winding "suggestion" for a detector setup...
IMO This is wrong and comes at a sensitivity "cost"...
The picture shows IMO correct and best winding of coil wire...
Hope this helps any and all of you to "crank up the sens"
