Me and Beardogs were hunting a late 1700s to early 1800s site and we're hammering nails ( pun intended)in an iron infested area. Beardogs got his whizzer and first reale (1776)that day. I was going through my nails and spikes I had dug that day and came across an unusual nail. I was in such a hurry to bag the nails that day that I just assumed I knew what it was. It looked to be silver so I cleaned it . Now it looks like a silver protractor. Any guesses? The thinner side is missing...looked but didn't see it in my stuff.

I put a picture of the Nick in the side of the stem to show that it was the same color on the inside as it was on the surface.
