I drove home for Mother's Day to surprise my mom. She takes care of my nieces and nephews. She also is taking care of my step dad who is suffering from cancer. She never gets a break. Well I took her out for lunch and she was talking about how my nephew hasnt found anything with the metal detector I bought him for Christmas. (That was before I was a member here and knew what to look for.) So of course I feel bad and the next morning I gave my nephew my Ace 250 and my Gator digging tool and headphones. Within 5 minutes he found a dime! I recorded the whole thing! I had to leave within an hour because I had to work and it is a 5 hour drive. His total within 20 minutes?? 28 Cents!! what are you doing with the old machine you got for him? and what make is it?---BH tracker IV?--have a niece & nephew that go with me "sometimes" and I need a loaner machine for them ------ by the way hes going to love "his" new 250 ---very nice machine & very kind of you to do it---Ivan

I dunno, I might sell it on ebay. I paid over 300 bucks for it because I got the extra coil. Of course Kellyco brags on it http://www.kellycodetectors.com/MP3/mpX.htm . It is the MPX. It just seems really cheaply made, doesnt show how deep the target is and is REALLY loud, another thing that upset me because they sent cheap headphones and it hurt his ears really bad. Of course he kept wearing the phones and now he complains of hearing loss. If I get 100 bucks for it on ebay I will be happy.

I give away the freebie headphones to folks I don't like---I use a set of whites nice adjustible both sides---

You're a great guy, tp. Your nephew will never forget the day you gifted him with your detector (and your brother or sister should be grateful that you're such an awesome uncle, too!).

Hurry up and get yourself a replacement so we don't have to wait too long for more videos! I don't know which one was my favorite, the one where you found your first silver washington or the one with the memorial in the frozen lump of dirt (you have no idea how many times I was tempted to bring home chunks of ice-dirt to thaw, but was stopped by the sure knowledge that my wife would finally KNOW I'd lost my mind). Did I miss the one about the awesome gold ring?
