pb 001.webppb 002.webppb 003.webppb 004.webp Found this item that I assume is a bullet this evening . I measured the base with my digital calipers and it is.50 inches. It appears to be a modern bullet by the rifling marks on the side but what is throwing me off is the tip looks to have been pulled by a worm at some point .Looking at it closely the hole in the tip looks like it was threaded at some point maybe to have been pulled from the barrel. Is this common for modern day black powder guns? Thanks for any help identifying this bullet:icon_scratch:

I'm thinking... not a bullet. Ram rod tip?

Looks more like a modern knurled hollow-point.

Charlie P is correct. In addition to the rifling-marks proving it is a fired bullet, I recognized the peculiar "basketweave" or "lattice" ridging on its sides, which meant it is a modern muzzleloader "Buffalo" bullet. Charlie P posted the correct answer while I was busy looking for the photos I'd seen on other websites.
