(1) Purple. That is the color of the beautiful stone (?) in this ring.
(2) Rain. It rained all day long, every time I drove to a new spot and got out to detect. So, I gave up on staying dry and said the heck with it, I am waterproof and so is my gear.
After a "Meh...
" Saturday hunt at some promising new parks, I went back to what I knew to be a productive soccer field. It gave me all of those rings and pendants during the past week. I was not having much luck, standing under big trees while the deluges rolled on through, when I finally got a strong, repeatable 65 VDI on the ATPro at 2 inches. Found this pretty gold "colored" ring in the hole, with a small carrot sized root growing through the middle of it, ugh. It was shiny gold in the hole, and was a sight for soaked eyes.
It cleaned up beautifully with soap and water at home. Inspection revealed no maker marks. It weighs in 2.8 grams. There are scuffs into the metal (not from me) that indicate it may be the same metal through and through. All the little clear stones are intact too. It may be just very well-made bling, or just an unmarked low grade gold ring. I will have to have it tested. But thanks for looking and happy hunting to all. I have enjoyed seeing all of my fellow T-Netter's finds this week! Sub
