Purple Sunset with a bird and a boat

I see a purple glow from my window and sped... I mean drive to the beach 1/2 mile away.
The bird on the rock and then the eerie boat in the ball shots are just weird.... but cool!

Love that third shot. The purple must be forest fire smoke heading out to sea. The fire at Crater Lake has us breathing soot here in the valleys of the Umpqua. Pretty much an orange sunrise today. I've seen the smoke worse, but the last couple of days we are getting record heat, which is a nasty combination. They canceled my concrete pour until it cools down a bit.

We have a fire 20 miles inland, the "Chetco bar" fire they say will be completely contained when rainy season starts.
