Quality not quantity. 2 cent piece

I made it out yesterday to a place that has been pounded before and managed a nice 2 cent piece 1864, an old earing, an old pocket magnifier, an old Head Light brand button from old coveralls, and a handful of clad. The good finds were scarce except for the 2 center. That one made my day. The 2 cent piece was 6 inches deep under a root and took some work to recover. I thought it was going to be a clad dime or copper penny with the numbers but because it was fairly deep, I dug it. A nice day to be out and get some exercise. Thanks for looking and may your coil find great things.

What's the scoop on those "screw back" earrings, are they old? I've found a few in the past, honestly I had no idea what they were until my wife ID'ed them while nosing around some finds.

They date back pretty far. I remember the older ladies using this style when I was a kid in the late 40's and early 50's.
