Okay, now that ring is totally cool! Definitely looks old, and a really unusual design. Looks like an alien crop circle decoder ring. :laughing7:
Congrats on your prize!

Got out for a rare hunt this past weekend to a site I've hunted many times and came put with one of my best finds in years! It's a miracle it wasn't crushed or broken and I suspect it could be quite old. Most definitely gold but without hallmarks. Also found a late 1700s ice creeper which was a first for me! Fun hunt.
That's a really interesting ring, I hope that you can identify it and keep us posted. Congratulations on a really cool find!!!

Awesome ring! I would love to know more about it!

Well found on the ring Romeo, it certainly has a different look to it.
The ice creeper is a cool relic.

The pattern on the ring repeats. It just doesn't have that gold look to me. Looks like aluminum honestly. But I'm not there, I can't hold it or feel it. Do you have a scale to weigh it? Nice finds regardless.

"Rare", I see, you have not been out, or posted much in a year or two. Me neither.
Yeah those are some interesting markings on the ring, almost looks like a symbol type of writing, or as suggested just decorative IDK, but someone must have seen it before ?

A great looking Ring !

I read that Gold & Silver jewelry was not hallmark stamped until the late 1800's - early 1900's.
If you don't have a Gold testing kit a local Jeweler could tell you the purity and maybe the approx. age of the Ring.

Good Luck !

Great mystery ring! I only offer this as a wild guess. In the early 20th century parts of the US population became obsessed with the occult: divining, fortune telling, seances, zodiac and all forms of spirit world interests. Strange designs became somewhat common, especially in art and jewelry. Maybe that ring was from such a design. I hope you get a good answer and share it with us. Very intriguing.

I've been detecting for 20 years and know the difference between gold and aluminum. It is most assuredly gold. I don't have a scale and there is no need to weigh it for me to know it's a gold ring.

I believe ya. The close up pic is throwing me off is all. It's a very awesome find.
