Went to a local ranch to get permission to look for quartz crystals. You'll never know unless you ASK!
Found some pieces. Not much. These two are the best today... marginal.

AND the rancher told me where to find petroglyphs! He explained where to find them.
He said there would be two or three. I found these two.

The rancher drove up to me as I was walking out. He asked me if I liked finding Indian artifacts. Of course I would! he got down to the sand and commenced to draw a map of where I would find a settlement that included more petroglyphs! As expected, the man requested I keep the location(s) to myself. Moral of the story: Asking permission can sometimes give HUGE rewards! ╦╦Ç

I'll visit the other site SOON. ╦╦Ç

Looks like a great opportunity Terry, let us all know what you find!

Congratualtions on the the awesome permission; enjoy the exploration! :occasion14:

Congrats on the permission and the finds. I’ll bet there’ll be more coming soon. Take care.

I am finding that the deserts in AZ were TEAMING with people. I also believe that the climate was much more moist back then.... 800 900 years ago. I will report back when I visit the other site he put me on to. Neat stuff.... all around here!! ╦╦Ç

You ought to go and ride one of them horses out there....that would make it even more fun...

Yes! The horses are in Tucson. Three hours away. Nice petroglyphs down there too. Your mention of the horses tells me you are following my other posts too. Thank you for that. ╦╦Ç

More great shots! :headbang:

Man your just move'n along there Terry. We should just start taking bets on where next you'll be. I like myself to visit old rock art sites myself when I can.

I PREDICT....... Flagstaff next for a few days. Or Southeast AZ for crystal-filled geodes. ╦╦Ç

I used to stay the night in Flagstaff on the nights before and after I got out of the Phoenix area. I always like to stop by Cameron AZ north on 89 and look at all native American jewelry and 5 figure painting's you can see there. Some really cool stuff there.

Flagstaff is cool in summer, prompting me to check it out as a summer "respite" site. ╦╦Ç

One if my favorite cool down spots after my trips to Phoenix and Tucson was Flagstaff and sometimes I'd go NE to Show Low. That place really cools down in the summer heat at night.
