I noticed this was your very first post - so, Welcome Aboard barnew! You didn't list your state (or country) in your profile. So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forum: Select Your Area.... and selecting location information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country).

You might also consider adding your state (or country) to your displayed profile (SETTINGS -> EDIT PROFILE) - members may have more success helping you (your location may help, etc.).

I'm no geologist but I see smokey quartz in picture 8 and maybe quartz with iron ore and magnetite inclusions in pictures 6 and 7. The others I'm guessing iron ore with Galena but don't quote me on that.

Thanks all three of you. Just working out the replying bit. Yes looks like smoky quartz to me too. Not sure if it is quite a bit of hematite through the quartz. Quite a large quartz reef - with a lot of volcanic looking rock - splattered looking rocks and vein looking rocks - but haven’t seen anything golden !! - and no rusty looking quartz at all. Not in gold reknown area. These are from my first ever rock hounding trip. Appreciate the replies thank you. I am in Australia.
