Question about EQ800/discrimination

Currently, I run 5 tones, and accept everything on the horseshoe -9 thru 40. I assign a tone volume of 0 to -9 thru 10, and 14 thru 18. (I’m hunting mainly for coins only)

If i notch -9 thru 10, and 14 thru 18, do you lose depth on the EQ800?

I don't know about the depth. I run 50 tones and horse shoe. You'll get the deepest this way. Also if you get a good repeatable tone, especially a deep one I dig it. Yes dig a lot of trash but also get some surprising finds this way.

That^ (At least in the case of Equinox).

So you might as well use the mode default discrimination pattern and use the horseshoe as intended, i.e., a quick way to remove all/disc and notch.
