Do you need to be careful to overlap your sweeps with the double D coil? My understanding is that instead of sending a cone-shaped signal into the ground, the double D sends the signal down the entire area under the coil. Thanks for any info, Bryan

Overlaping is not as important with a DD coil for the reasons you said. The field of a DD coil is more like a D laying on it's side while a concentric is more like a V. You should still overlap some for best coverage.

Thanks for the info
